... working to produce top horses in small quantities
so this may be treated as the great artform we know it is. Tremendous attention to every detail of breeding,
management and training w/ intimate hands on connection. For one purpose, to create a jumper
that can and will be elite. To produce a horse that has every quality needed to hold up to and
excel within the rigors of intense upper level competition.
Human connection, heart, physical
ability and strength pushing beyond the limits, speed and sensitivity, yet intelligence and endurance.
And, a mind and attitude that works for the trainer and rider, and makes your full life easier.
These horses are solid; they are the culmination of 20 years of careful selection and singular focus.
A lifetime of work ... to breed a great horse. I know these horses, I know what it takes to succeed
at the highest levels of this sport, and I will give you an honest, truthful evaluation of each animal.
I will stand behind them 100%, and (if you do your part) you will succeed with them.
These young horses will be worth the wait, and you can only get the Cradilo’s of the past 5 years from
Huntington Farms. There has been very little to no outside breeding.
Fate is our oldest Cradilo offspring (bred by Huntington Farms) and one of only two Cradilo 4 year olds. She is out of June'smorning Star,
a thoroughbred bred by Huntington Farms for sport (June's dam Makiki was by the great Illinois thoroughbred jumping producer, Zen). Bred to be an upper level
jumper and currently standing at 16.1 hands, this mare has it all.
She is large bodied, gorgeous, perfectly conformed and is a lovely mover. She lives up to her name (meaning 'feminine curiosity') and has that
'look at me,' climb in to your lap, star quality presence. She is
extremely intelligent, and aims to please. Most strikingly, she seems to possess the intense confidence of her sire; a quality we
believe above all else is the
'touch of gold' for an upper level jumper.
For her first shoeing, she stood perfectly still. And in learning to free jump, she actually
started going to the start of the chute on her own and waiting for the signal to jump. This was only her second time
free jumping! (see 4' free jumping video on under Amy's youtube videos)
As a three year old started under saddle, she never once bucked, and has been extremely calm through the entire backing process.
She seems to actually be happier when mounted, and has taken to jumping under saddle like a fish to water. She has been completely adjustable (in
terms of collection) from day one, and began doing automatic lead changes when first completing courses. As a 3 yr old she free jumped 4'9"
(and more recently 5' as a 4 year old), demonstrates incredible sharpness with her front end, and tremendous length of stride. It is clear Fatima has a
strong desire to perform, and her breeding gives her the ability to do just that.
Fate just won Champion (September 2011) in the Open Clear Lake Jumpers (2'9" division) in Midstates Horse Shows in Mason City, Iowa.
In 2011 Florida as a new 4 year old, Fatima was 2nd at the prestigious Young Horse Show at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington.
She also placed several times in Hits Ocala as a very green jumper prospect in the lower level open classes.
Needless to say, we are expecting great things from this mare, and are certain given the opportunity she will prove her sire's strength as a top
jumper producer. With some time to mature, she will be uncomplicated and willing, ideally suited to a good amateur rider, and yet highly competitive
particularly in terms of speed and carefulness, making her suitable for a top professional as well. She will be sold to a serious show home only.

Poseidon's Phantom, aka Seamore, is a 16.2 hand bay 5 year old gelding that was bred in Ireland (foaled in New Hampshire) by Chantal Deon,
the same breeder of Cradilo. Seamore combines
the best of both Irish and Dutch breeding, and is absolute proof that the strength and the mind of the Irish combined with the grace and
lightness of the Dutch equals magic.
Ramone, Seamore's sire (dutch), was the 5-6 year old Champion Young Jumper in Ireland, and has gone on to be a successful International Grand Prix jumper.
He comes down the Ramiro Z and Zues line on top, and the Ladykiller/Landgraf1 line on the bottom. Seamore's dam is primiraly Irish Draught ... being sired by RID
Carrabawn View. This
stallion is known for producing incredibly strength, mind and jump; and these qualities are all blatantly obvious in Seamore.
Seamore is an absolute joy to own. He is a wonderful addition to the barn, easy to work with, quiet, a good leader in the herd, and a great
babysitter on the trail. He is unflappable (in that he almost never spooks), he is extremely low maintenance (in terms of amount of feed and required
care), and he is Irish tough. Yet he is, in our opinion flashy and gorgeous. He is a bold yet careful jumper, being large enough to give a rider
confidence, yet light enough to be sensitive and quick when required.
We fully expect Seamore to succeed @ the largest rated shows in anything from equitation to the amateur and open jumpers, eventually
reaching the high open jumper ring and excelling. More importantly, he will easily hold up to the intense workload
and has already shown a wonderful aptitude for happily caring for an amateur rider around a rated show course (see Mason City 2011 video below); doing it all with great style and beauty.
FCF Kingson (aka Peety) is a 3 year old 14.1 plus hand registered German Riding Pony. His sire is Kennedy WE (stands in Germany),
he is out of the Trakehner mare Victoria Secret and was bred in the United States. Peety recently learned to jump this summer, and in this video is doing
his first 2'6" hunter type course, free jumping (for the first time) up to 3'6", and finishing with some light flat work. Peety is wonderfully quiet and
unflappable, a lovely mover, yet forward to the jumps with an excellent natural technique. He will be a wonderful pony and could excel in several different
diciplines, including the A circuit pony hunters or eventually the pony jumpers, 3 day eventing, or dressage. Peety will be going to his first A rated hunter/jumper
show (the Minnesota Harvest) the beginning of October.
Deluca is a 16.2 hand 4 year old out of a thoroughbred mare that comes directly down the Northern Dancer
and Secretariat line. These are two of the most influential thoroughbred stallions in American racing history, and the
combination of this greatness of endurance and athletic ability and Cradilo's tremendous attributes of size, power and heart
brings us to a competition mare well worth watching.
Deluca seems to inherently possess a strong drive to work and compete, and has a jump and general
attitude that in many ways is very similar to her sire. Deluca however was not bred by Huntington Farms and strikes us at this point
as more of a professional's horse. For this reason, we will be very particular about any future homes for this mare.
Grimes, by Cradilo out of Koganna, is a bay 2008 gelding. Though he isn't as large as the typical Cradilo foals
(he is currently 15.3 and we hope he will mature to 16 hands), he may be one of the more rarely bred sport horses in the country (mare is Akhal-Teke-Kogan/Westfalen-Puritano). We know of
no other breeding farms in the world right now crossing the best of the Akhal-Teke and the Irish Draught.
And he appears to have some fairly extraordinary characteristics, as
he's beautifully balanced, and very athletic. He's somewhat refined,
and yet seems to have that toughness and endurance that breeders like to see in strong competitive potentials. He has the noted exceptional temperament of the
Akhal-Teke; extreme loyalty, and in the herd wants to be a natural baby-sitter. He is intelligent and grounded, yet sensitive. He also possesses the rare
combination of the beautiful silky golden (in the sun) Akhal-Teke coat and a great deal of full mane and tail; yet is dark bay with quite a bit of chrome.
Bottom line, he is super cute. It is our expectation that Grimes will excel in the amateur ring as a 3'6" jumper with the potential for the lower 4' classes.
Grimes is currently being lightly started under saddle.
Video below ...
Quinlan is a 2009 16 hand gelding born May 14th by Cradilo out of Red Charisma. Quin is a true extrovert, wonderfully friendly and totally
unflappable, as you can literally easily do anything with this gelding. And he seems to have the lovely balance that is becoming typical of the Charm/Cradilo crosses ... big, strong,
yet the refinement and clear athletic finesse of the thoroughbred.
Quinlan's full 3 year old sister, Chanel, was sold to Madison Dehaven as a serious Grand
Prix prospect (see sold page). Madison trains with Nora McDonald (a top Grand Prix rider in her own right) and I'm told Nora considers Chanel to be one of the top young
prospects she has seen. Quinlan is a serious open jumper prospect, bred for and possessing all of the qualities necessary to reach this very impressive level.
He is currently lightly started under saddle, and a powerful jumping style reminiscent of his sire can be seen in his free jumping video below.
Calue by Cradilo (aka: Junior) is a 16 hand 2009 Cradilo gelding out of Monday's Glory. We are particularly excited by this cross
as it is the only one we have produced by this particular line. Vennie's Knightout, Glory's dam, was one of the most exceptional thoroughbred mares we had ever
come across. She had an incredibly easy, quiet temperament, and yet all the athletic prowess, grace and heart one likes to attribute to the American
thoroughbred. And we see these qualities strongly in Junior.
He is incredibly easy to work with, and has an extremely confident and peaceful nature that we find to be rare. Despite his
inherently quiet disposition, when
placed before free jumps for the first time (see video below), he cleared 4' easily with balance, power, scope, and very nice form. This is a top open jumper prospect, and will
with time be a wonderful amateur horse as well.
Kogan by Cradilo (aka: KC) is a 2010 colt by Cradilo out of our Akhal-Teke warmblood mare, Koganna. This gelding is very much like his older brother, Grimes, though he appears to be quite a bit taller and heavier boned through the leg and perhaps a bit more outgoing in personality. In body he is a bit lighter and more Akhal-Teke looking, and also has more of the light catlike movement and jump. We are very excited to see how this guy develops as he grows, but given Grimes' current status, we are confident this will be an exceptional prospect. See his first free jumping video below.
